We are currently seeking Seasonal Associates for the 2025 season for all departments, including Retail Customer Service and Cashier Services, Events, Greenhouse House Plants and Annuals and Nursery Trees, Shrubs, Perennials.

We are seeking several individuals to join our team for seasonal roles in various departments at our Kansas City, MO location. Please note that these positions will require weekend hours during peak seasons.

OPEN HOUSE: We invite all those interested in onsite interviews to our open house on March 3rd, from 12pm to 2pm and 5pm to 7pm.

Hourly Range: $14.00-$16.00 an hour

About Us: Colonial Gardens, located in Blue Springs, MO, was added to our brand family in 2016. Founded in 1969, renovations began in 2017 to create an agritourism destination. It is the garden center, reimagined! We offer a greenhouse, nursery, café and coffee shop, event space, and farmer’s market. It’s where plants, food and farms connect. Educational classes promoting local agriculture and sustainability as well as private events are also offered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service – Be courteous, friendly, and always ready to help.
• Organized – Quick thinking to prioritize the customer’s needs efficiently and effectively.
• Execution of duties – Follows direction in an accurate and timely manner.
• Customer Resource – Demonstrate knowledge of Garden Center products and services and customer needs.

Essential Job Duties:

• Process day to day transactions of customers on point of sales, phones, and other systems.
• Assist with stocking, merchandising, watering, pruning/trimming, deadheading, and displaying to an irresistible level in designated areas as assigned to maximize sales potential.
• Provide seamless customer service, including events/festivals/workshops, additionally, assisting with plant care, including recommendations for proper potting soil, containers, and fertilizer, and pest control.
• Carry out daily routines and tasks according to the daily check list, and other tasks, projects or duties as assigned by the department manager(s).
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly workspace for all customers and associates.
• Promote and manage a safe work environment while following direction from the safety committee.
• Provide assistance to other departments when asked or needed in tasks such as, housekeeping, stocking, organization, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Required: Certain departments will require 18 years age, due to selling of alcohol
• Potentially Required: Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and work in an outdoor & indoor work environment
• Preferred: Experience in and passion for Retail, Customer Service, Horticulture, Agriculture, Nursery, Greenhouse, Plants
